As the Director of Faith Formation, I was thrilled to have 15 parishioners, which included Fr. Joe, attend the National March for Life in Washington D.C. this year. We have participated in the annual Archdiocesan trip to D.C. since its inception and it has been a powerful experience for all who have attended. It is a chance for teens and their chaperones to actively participate in the Pro-Life movement, to educate themselves on the issue and to have their voice heard. It’s hard to put into words the emotions of walking through our nation’s capital with hundreds of thousands of other advocates for the unborn. The experience is rejuvenating. Yet, this year the air was knocked out of our lungs by the signing of less restrictive abortion laws in the State of New York. One step forward, two steps back.
Yes, it is frustrating and quite frankly infuriating. But we can’t be complacent. We can’t say there is nothing that can be done. Your elected public officials need to hear your voice and your concerns. I encourage you to attend this year’s Catholics at the Capital on February 19
th (

Registration ends this weekend so don’t delay! One voice may not seem to make a difference but together they do. Don’t be complacent! If you cannot attend, I encourage you to visit their website so that you be informed about upcoming legislation in Minnesota which should be of a concern to Catholics. (

The Minnesota Catholic Conference not only address pro-life legislation, but all areas regarding the dignity of the human person, from conception to natural death. As disciples of Jesus Christ, we cannot remain silent or think that someone else will speak up. We are called to bring Christ to all and infuse the public discourse with the truth of the Gospel.
