Get Involved with Youth Programs

The Faith Formation Department has over 70 volunteers who help keep things running smoothly during Faith Formation on Wednesdays as well as the many events we participate in throughout the year. We ask that each family prayerfully consider what shared ministry gifts and talents they would enjoy sharing. We serve approximately 220 students on Wednesday evenings and need many catechists, classroom assistants, substitutes, hall monitors and office support team members. The Faith Formation department sponsors many events throughout the year. We need chaperones, special event helpers and Confirmation and First Sacrament volunteers. (Link to brief job description and time commitment?)

Catechist and Substitute Catechist Application

Everyone who volunteers in our youth programs must take complete the Protection of Children and Youth Initiative Program prior to volunteering with youth. Requirements only need to be completed once.

Adults (18 and older): Complete a Background Check and attend a Virtus session

Adult Drivers (21 and older): Complete a Background Check, Driver Check and and attend a Virtus session.

Youth (Under 18): Complete 3 Letters of Reference.

Background Check Packets and Reference Letter Packets are available from the Faith Formation Office and should be completed and returned to the Faith Formation Office for processing at least two weeks prior to the start of your volunteer opportunity.

Virtus Sessions are hosted by parishes around the Archdiocese throughout the year. Go to www.virtus.org to register (link to instructions) and complete the session at least two weeks prior to the start of your volunteer opportunity.
